Alfred has been at the forefront in investment strategy and asset management for private and institutional portfolio’s since 1969. His pioneering career began as the third registered representative on the New York and American Stock Exchanges and later evolved into corporate finance, investment banking, endowment fund management and private equity.

Prior of founding Ahmor Interests, Alfred was an associate partner at Drexel, Burnham, Lambert.  As a result of that firms dissolution Alfred founded Ahmor Interests with a limited consortium of  his clients,. 

 

Alfred has worked in private equity, investment finance and asset management for 37 years.  More recently he has guided the firm in His experience in venture capital, real estate, asset management and environmental sectors.

Known by some for his chocolat studio, Alfred serves on the Board of Directors of I Can Fly International, the Duke Ellington Foundation and the  Alfred & Kleotha Moore Family Missions Foundation.   He received his B.B.A. Wichita State University, studied at Rice university and the University of Houston before joining Kohlmeyer & Company NYSE.

Howard is the Chief Compliance Officer for Ahmor Interests and is the primary liaison between the executive officers and boards of the firms portfolio of independently managed companies.  He additionally insures governmental compliance and standards of practice with investor and investment engagement of the firms offerings and holdings. 

 

Prior to AHMOR, Howard was a Senior Accountant at The Carlyle Group. Prior to The Carlyle Group, he held positions as an Analyst in the Loan Syndications and Distressed Debt Group at Wachovia Securities and as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche.

Howard received his B.S. from North Carolina A&T State University Howard University and his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Hanne Bakken, Partner
Chief Financial Officer

Hanne is the Vice President and Controller of the Ahmor Interests.    She is responsible for corporate financial, investor services, managerial accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting and corporate compliance. 

 

Prior to joining Ahmor Hanne served in a variety of roles including Manager of Accounting and Assistant Controller at Freddie Mac.  She provided reporting and credit analysis related to securitization and mortgage guarantees.  

 

Hanne received her B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Christine joined Ahmor in 2012  and heads the firms acquisition and management equity portfolio holdings to maximize short and long-term operating and financial performance.  She also works closely with deal teams in screening and completing due diligence on prospective equity and venture capital investments.

Christine's prior experience in independent strategy, analytics and metrics for partnerships with institutional and private equity firms at McKinsey & Company is employed to develop strategies for growth and performance of Ahmor's assets.  She serves as the operational right hand for the CEO and board by aligning business units with overall strategy and identifying the key levers to improve economic performance.

Her work includes turn-around, scale and diversification to help drive performance of the firms investment.  Christine holds a MBA, Stanford Graduate School of Business and AB, Mathematics, Dartmouth College

Stephanie Bednar, Associate
Research & Marketing

Stephanie heads Ahmor's Deal Origination and Research team to build deep relationships with the firm’s deal intermediaries in identifying and qualifying new investment opportunities.

She has over 15 years’ experience in fields as diverse as finance, expertise in media, fashion and hospitality in developing marketing and communications strategies that have consistently contributed to an organization’s goals, culture and bottom line.

Prior to Ahmor Stephanie's experience included Arete Partners Management Consulting in Marketing, Communications & Content Director.  She transformed the marketing function into a driver of business in overseeing all aspects of marketing as related to strategy, PR, collateral, branding and identity, events and business development.

She has teamed with clients from finance, tech, retail and non-profit sectors on marketing initiatives designed to engage audiences and increase measurable impact.  Stephanie holds a

BA, in English from Fordham University

Carl A.  Mayfield, Partner
Real Estate Development 

Carl is responsible for providing leadership to the project development team supervising all phases of capital projects.  He is responsible for energy management/conservation strategies, physical due diligence, budgeting, scheduling, brand coordination, contracting and capital execution for all properties. He also provides leadership for all development projects from programming, planning, entitlements, budgeting, and public-private partnerships.

 

Prior to joining Ahmor Carl served as the Project Executive for Georgetown University's "Southwest Quadrangle Project," a $200 million mixed-use housing, parking, dining and demonstration fuel cell facility.  Carl’s 36 years of experience in design, construction and real estate development projects span the spectrum from residential, commercial, sports and entertainment to hospitality. He has been involved with or managed over $3 Billion worth of real estate projects.  Carl holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University.

Kevin Liou, Partner
Investor Services

Mr. Liou serves as head of Ahmor's institutional client services team which handles all aspects of client communications, presentations, reporting and onboarding, as well as board reports and marketing materials. In addition to serving as client liaison to our institutional clients, Kevin works closely with portfolio managers and private client in establishing and servicing relationships.

 

Mr. Liou began his career at Assante Wealth Management and The Berkshire Group of Companies where he was responsible for marketing and compliance.  Having close to 10 years of industry experience including corporate communications, strategic management and technical experience, Mr. Liou has excellent credibility and familiarity with the financial, investment and banking communities within the United States, China and Korea. He has successfully increased the institutional and Asian coverage of the companies client base through the use of technology, targeting and proactive contact for our buy-side portfolio acquisitions and sell-side revenues.  Mr. Liou graduated from the University of Southern California Los Angeles with a major in Finance and is a registered member of FINRA.

Jesse M Burwell, Partner
Commercial Realty Aquisitions & Management

Jesse is a real estate professional and serial entrepreneur with over 29 years experience in real estate private equity, startups and equity and options trading. He has extensive experience in acquisitions, capital formation, directing teams, structuring deals, syndication, asset management, financial markets and investor relations.

Prior to joining Ahmor, Jessie was VP of Business Development for Scanlan Kemper Bard Companies, where he managed the firm’s alternative investment platform and served as an acquisitions officer on a team that completed $460 million of commercial real estate acquisitions during his tenure. Previously, Jessie co-founded and served as CEO of Clarus Property Ventures, a real estate private equity firm that focused on multifamily acquisitions in southern and midwestern states. Jessie holds a BA in Economics and a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley

Darien M Cameron, Associate
Agency Services

Darien joined Ahmor in 2010 as an intern.  After college and time in professional baseball Cameron now works directly with high net worth entertainers, musicians, artists, athletes and/or their agencies and well as private individuals in marketing and investors services of the firm.  He resolves questions and guilds clients in achieving maximum benefit of the firms resources, effective financial return and preserving wealth for the firms clients. 

 

Darien earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Organization from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his Master’s degree in Sports Administration at Xavier University in Cincinnati.  He was instrumental in the reorganization of Ahmor's Sports & Entertainment Group and serves as Director of Agent Client Services. 

Mellody is responsible for firm-wide management and strategic planning for the Ahmor Foundation, the Alfred & Kleotha Missionary Family Trust and trust clients.  She oversees all operations outside of research and portfolio management including charity and social service initiatives. 

 

Beyond her work at Ahmor, she has become a nationally recognized voice on financial literacy and investor education regular contributing as analyst on finance, market and economic trends for KCBS News.  Mellody has also contributed to money tips on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and has penned columns for Black Enterprise magazine.  As a passionate advocate for investor education, she is a spokesperson for the Ahmor Study: 401(k) Plans in Living Color,  the Ahmor Black Investor Survey which examines investing patterns among minorities and educate youth in finance and investing.  Mellody earned her AB from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of International Relations and Public Policy and an MBA from Howard University.
